Dan Armstrong effects are most well known for their series of effects released in the 1970's that plugged directly into the output jack on the guitar itself. The effects were also notable for their colour based names and included the Blue Clipper (smooth fuzz), Green Ringer (octaver), Yellow Humper (frequency booster for bass guitar), Red Ranger (switch-able treble, bass or all frequency boost), Purple Peaker (switch-able mid or high frequency boost), and the Orange Squeezer compressor.
